Christmas and Thanksgiving: family oriented holidays, but American society is so mobile and families so spread out.
It's often better to stay local and make family, or it doesn't have to be called family, where you're at.
Then there's also the Internet for reaching out to siblings or what ever.
Christmas is often too family oriented and families are so spread out in US society. It's better to stay local. The Internet will keep me in touch with my blood relative sisters. We greet one another Merry Christmas also.
