Cited same study, but a different interpretation. Maybe Americans are more connected, less isolated now than in past decades; especially counting all those Internet contacts. <BR/><BR/>The survey asked "how many close confidants." This depends on how stringent one makes the definition for "close confidant." Maybe the "bar" for who Americans consider as close confidants is higher. <BR/><BR/>Yes there may be more contacts than before, but the threshold of quality, for who is considered a truly close friend, is higher than past in decades.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
