Less dependency on fossil fuels is a good strategy given global instability.

Those people, countries and businesses that rely more on locally produced alternative energy, such as solar, are less vulnerable to global disruptions in fossil fuel supplies. I hear now that Uruguay, in South America, gets most of it's electricity from alternative energy.
